Hand plants are conservation grade deciduous and coniferous seedlings. These seedlings are dormant, bare root, and need to be planted in the early spring. They are bare root and approximately 12-20 inches tall. These conservation grade seedlings are from locally adapted seed or cuttings of known origin.
Hand plants are ordered through the Cass SCD anytime from August to April. Trees will be available to pick up in early spring. The earlier you order, the better chance you have of receiving the species of tree you would like. As time goes on, the availability of trees diminishes and if you wait until the spring to order, you may not be able to get what you want, so order early!!!!
