To promote soil, water, and energy conservation practices, the Cass SCD offers a conservation grass seeding service. A 7 ft no-till grass drill is used to plant grass in small areas (< 20 acres). A few examples are pictured below.

The Cass County Soil Conservation District technician will arrange planting schedules, transportation, calibration, and provide the planting service. The Cooperator is responsible for procuring the seed, making arrangements to have the seed on site, and having a properly prepared seed bed. Cooperator receiving this service agrees NOT TO HOLD the Cass County Soil Conservation District responsible for damage from chemicals or natural causes that could affect the grass stand.

2010 Grass Seeding Price:

$20.00 per acre (for 10 acres or less)
$3.50 per 100 linear feet for plantings between tree rows

*PLEASE NOTE: there is a minimum charge of $100.00 for grass seeding services

For recommended seeding dates and application rates please contact the Fargo field office at 701.282.2157 extension 3 or by email.
