Project "WET"

Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) is a nonprofit water education program and publisher for educators and young people ages 5-18. The program facilitates and promotes awareness, appreciation, knowledge, and stewardship of water resources through the dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aids and the establishment of internationally sponsored Project WET programs.

The project "WET" mission...

To Reach Children, Parents, Educators, and Communities of the World with Water Education

What project "WET" believes...

  • Water moves through living and nonliving systems and binds them together in a complex web of life.
  • Water of sufficient quality and quantity is important for all water users (energy producers, farmers and ranchers, fish and wildlife, manufacturers, recreationists, rural and urban dwellers).
  • Wise water management is crucial for providing tomorrow's children with social and economic stability in a healthy environment.
  • Awareness of and respect for water resources can encourage a personal, lifelong commitment of responsibility and positive community participation.

Project WET is committed to providing members of its network, water professionals, educators and students with a wide range of support services to help them deliver the best possible education in homes, schools, communities, and other education outlets.

The Cass County SCD can assist teachers in receiving training in this field. If you would be interested in attending this program and would like the district to financially support you, fill out the application and return it to the office. The board will act on your request at their next board meeting. For more information please contact us at 701.282.2157 extension 3.
